Differences with a regular primary school

No grade classes but core groups

At the Steve JobsSchools there are no Grade classes like in traditional schools but core groups of approximately 18 – 25 children with an age difference of 1 to 3 years.  Older children are encouraged to be leaders and to help the younger ones. The Core Group is the child’s ‘family group’ within the school and take care of each other in many different ways.  From the Core class children attend workshops and lessons in other classes with children who are on the same level as them in the particular subject.

No permanent teacher, but coaches and subject specialists

Just as in secondary school, children get their instruction from different subject professionals instead of only one permanent teacher.

Your child will have a permanent Core Teacher and class where his school day will start. The Core Teacher has a number of functions. For starters he or she is the permanent contact person and counsellor for you and your child. The coach also keeps track of your child’s progression.  Every 6-8 weeks the Core Teacher will meet with you and your child to discuss his Individual Development Plan, learning goals and performance over the past 6 weeks.

Independant Learning Plans

One of the main features of the Steve JobsSchools are that every learner has an Individual Development Plan that makes it possible for each child to work on his own level at his own pace while his progress is monitored and tracked by his Coaches.
