Today Maurice de Hond, CEO and founder of the Steve JobsSchools, shared his insights on school innovation at the EduWeek congress in Johannesburg, South Africa. EduWeek is the largest and most recognized African congress on education and educational technology (E-Tech). De Hond inspired the audience, including the South African Minister of Education Mrs. Angie Motshekga (photo), who opened the congress, with tips how to develop 21st century education in Africa.
He urged the education professionals present, not to add technology to the “old” school system founded over a century ago, but to fundamentally change the system. Like he did at the Steve JobsSchools, of which two opened in Sunsowner and Tres Jolie, Johannesburg just days ago.
